It's still not as busy as it was in August of 2012. But construction is picking up at Essar Steel Minnesota's site in Nashwauk.
The company told us that more than 100 construction workers are busy pouring concrete and putting up steel for buildings.
Leaders with the trades unions confirmed with us that people have returned to work out there.
Also, Essar leaders and contractors say that the payment timelines for the contractors have improved.
Essar estimates that they will begin producing pellets in the first part of 2015. This past summer, CEO Madhu Vuppuluri told the Star Tribune start-up of the plant would be in the second half of 2014, due to delays in financing.
Work had slowed down significantly in September of 2012.
