Wisconsin hunters have taken more than a third of the state's wolf quota in less than a week since the controversial hunt began.
The DNR's website reports that 85 wolves had been harvested as of Monday night. The total statewide quota for the hunt is 251.
That's a big jump from last year's numbers, which saw 20 taken in nine days. This year, 25 were taken in just three days.
Zone 1, which includes parts of Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, and Iron Counties has the most wolves harvested of all six zones, with 37 wolves taken.
The wolf hunt began on Oct. 15th.
