A Duluth family fired up a brand new furnace they got for free on Saturday as part of the Lennox Industries Heat Up MN giveaway.

Lennox gave away 100 furnaces across the Minnesota for the campaign. Employees of Carlson Duluth Company donated their time to install the furnace for the family in need.

Owner Jeremy Carlson said it makes a world of difference for the families.

“Especially in the Northland we all need heating systems and this literally was falling apart at the bottom as we took it apart and hauled it in the truck,” Carlson said. “When people see that and the condition that it was in they come to realize they really really needed this.”

This is the second year of the Heat Up MN campaign, and Carlson said anyone can nominate friends, neighbors or family in need of a new furnace.
