Three Milwaukee women each face four counts after allegedly selling a 14-year-old runaway into prostitution on backpage.com and stealing a car.
According to the complaint, the young girl was driven to Mercer, Wis. and a 67-year-old man paid $1,300 total to have her spend the night.
The next day, one of the women, Nikia Burchette, 27, allegedly beat up the minor. The complaint said the young girl ran away and that's when police found her.
Tanya S. Brown,18, Tamyra Leeann Thomas, 23, and Burchette all face four counts including trafficking of a child, human trafficking, physical abuse of a child, and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.
According to the complaint, the man admitted to answering to the "Back Page" ad for an escort and thought the girl was 19 years old. He said they did not engage in any sexual activity.
Burchette will make her initial appearance in court Monday, October 7. The other two women will appear in court the following Monday.
