With elections approaching candidates only have a few more weeks to get their message out.
On Monday night Duluth City Council at large candidates spoke during a forum at the Lakeside-Lester Park Community club about what issue they'd be most passionate about if elected.
Candidate Ryan Stauber said "we need a long term solution to fix our infrastructure. That includes the streets and everything underneath: the storm, the sanitary, the water mains, some of which are still made of wood."
Candidate Barb Russ agreed with Stauber, but said "when my children were little there was much more available to be as a working parent for my children after school and during the summers...I would really like to see the school district cooperate with the city and combine the parks and recreation department with what the schools have to offer."
And Candidate Zack Filipovich said "I want to help other young professionals, young people and people in general who want to come back to Duluth and stay in Duluth and make their lives here as I have done."
Four candidates are running for two open at large seats on the council. Ray Sandman wasn't at the forum.
The general election is November 5th.
