It may only be September, but volunteers on Saturday were already helping to put together the Northland's biggest holiday lights display.
Bentleyville Founder Nathan Bentley says 77 volunteers came to lend a hand at Bayfront, and he says those people come from all over the region.
"We just had a busload of people that came down from Virginia to help work on Bentleyville, so it's bringing people from all over Northeastern Minnesota and Wisconsin," he said.
That busload was helping give their big Christmas tree a big makeover, doubling the number of LED lights on it. Last year it had 50,000. This year it will have 100,000.
That's just one of many projects volunteers are working on.
"We're looking for volunteers every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday night to put this thing together," says Bentley.
On Saturdays and Sundays volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. And one Wednesdays from 5 p.m. To 8 p.m.
You don't have to have any experience to help out, but groups of five or more should contact Mary at 218-740-3522, or via email at email@example.com.
The 10th annual Bentleyville opens November 23rd.
