Duluth's newest brewery is just a few months old, but the co-founder told Eyewitness News Tuesday that they're already planning to expand.
Bent Paddle opened its doors in May. The brewery and a tap house are in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
Co-Founder and Brewer Bryon Tonnis said they're brewing roughly 12,000-15,000 cans each week which is more than they expected to be making this early on in the business.
Tonnis said "it's a good problem to have. Duluth has been really receptive to our beer and it feels really good."
The brewery will soon be adding four new tanks to the six they have now. They are also in the process of installing a machine that will attach the six-pack handles to the cans. Tonnis said they would then be able to run the canning line with two people instead of four or six.
"It's not going to speed up the process but it will save on labor," Tonnis said. "It will allow people to do other things like cleaning and filling kegs and keeping things clean which is very important in a brewery."
He said "we're excited to expand our market. We're going to be expanding over to Superior soon and hopefully greater Minnesota by next spring."
