Duluth, Minn. - The oldest and arguably the most revered trophy in North American professional sports -- the Stanley Cup -- is coming to Duluth and will be on display on Oct. 4 at AMSOIL Arena. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day, the general public is welcome to stop by and see the Cup in the AMSOIL concourse. The University of Minnesota Duluth women will open their 2013-14 regular season that night against the University of Connecticut and both tickets and parking to the game are free. Opening faceoff is set for 6:07 p.m.
This event was made possible by former three-time All-American Bulldog defenseman and Duluth resident Norm Maciver, the assistant general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks, who captured the Stanley Cup title last June.
