Grand Rapids Kmart Deemed Safe After Reported Bomb Threat

Police responded to a reported bomb threat Saturday at a Grand Rapids Kmart.
The Kmart, located on Pokegama Avenue in South Grand Rapids, reported at about 2 p.m. that they received an anonymous phone call claiming that a bomb had been placed in the store.
Authorities said that officers immediately closed and evacuated the store, and a thorough search of the area was conducted. According to officials, law enforcement deemed the premises safe after the search, and allowed the store to be reopened.
The Grand Rapids Police Department continues to investigate the threat.
