The St. Louis County Board appointed Angie Miller as interim commissioner Tuesday. Miller will fill the seat left vacant when her husband, Commissioner Steve O'Neil, passed away in July.
According to the county Communications Manager Dana Kazel, Miller will serve until the special election is held January 14, when voters will choose a commissioner to serve for the remainder of the term. She said besides Miller, one other person, Jim Laumeyer, had expressed interest in the interim position.
Miller was sworn in following the vote to appoint Miller, and she immediately took her place as the board moved into a committee of the whole meeting.
