Many people are talking about peace in Syria, and in Duluth, some are praying for it.
Duluth clergy led three hours of prayer Saturday afternoon at St. Benedict's Church. The gathering was a response to Pope Francis' call for a day of prayer for the people of Syria.
These parishioners may not share the same faith as many in Syria, but they wish to show solidarity with their desire for peace.
Kyle Eller, the director of communications for the Diocese of Duluth, said it was a peaceful way to respond to people who are suffering, many of whom are Christians and many of whom are Muslims.
"We hold all of them in our prayers and ask God to bless them and bring relief to them from the suffering that's going on there," he said.
The service was organized by the Diocese of Duluth.
