A woman from Florida faces possible charges after a single-car crash that injured two infants and a three-year-old.
The crash happened on Wis. Highway 70 in the Town of Dewey, between Spooner and Siren, just before 6 p.m. Friday. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu lost control and the car slid into the ditch, striking a large tree.
The Patrol says all three children were in child safety seats but were injured. The children and a 38-year-old woman were taken to Spooner Hospital and the two infants were subsequently airlifted to a St. Paul hospital with life-threatening injuries. The injuries to the 3-year-old and the 38-year-old are not life-threatening.
Charges are pending against the woman, the Patrol said. She and the three children are all from Naples, Fla.
Highway 70 was detoured for more than four hours after the crash.
