People were calling on lawmakers to take action against gun violence.

The rally was at Leif Erickson Park and it was put on by Organizing for Action. The group held rallies across the nation Wednesday.

The group is asking lawmakers to take action against gun violence by requiring background checks on all gun sales. While a small group showed up in Duluth, they said they have some tough questions for legislators.

"What will it take to get you to take action?" Brady Campaign Co-President Joan Peterson said. "Will it take another school shooting which we almost had yesterday in Georgia? Will it take another mass shooting? How many shootings will it take?"

Peterson said 40 percent of gun sales go without background checks.
