It's the kind of heat you can see in the air and over the lake.
For those that work outside, it can be stifling. But even when it feels 100 degrees outside, it doesn't seem to stop Northlanders.
Lester Park offers a chilly dip, but it's the beach on the big lake that really cools the swimmers off.
The Herman family came out to Park Point for one thing.
"We are making a little pond for my little brother for his boats," said 8-year-old Sofie.
Wearing their wet suits, they have a strategy.
"Go in and run out!" said older brother Kristian.
For a visiting cross country team the cold lake is a welcomed relief.
"We ran in the morning but it was still pretty hot. We were all sweating a lot, it was gross," said Elle Blom.
It may be a scorcher, but it still is the Northland after all.
"Enjoy what we have because it's not going to be long and the snow will be here," said Lisa Laberdie.
