A fugitive central Wisconsin police officer was captured in Burnett County on Tuesday afternoon.
Brad Young, 43, was arrested without incident and is being held at the Burnett County Jail, according to the Barron County Sheriff's Office, which led the search for Young in northwestern Wisconsin after he was sighted in the county Monday night.
The Green Lake County Sheriff's Department says Young, dressed in camouflage, broke into Walkers Kollerville Restaurant in Green Lake about 1 a.m. Monday.
Monday evening, Barron County sheriff's officials say Young led deputies on a car chase and fled on foot into some woods near Rice Lake. Deputies, local police officers and SWAT team members searched into the night. Homes within a square mile were temporarily evacuated while the manhunt continued.
Young was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday with the assistance of several county and state agencies.
