A musical with mining as a focus is going to make its Minnesota debut in Duluth!

The Burnt Part Boys is about a family torn apart, yet held together by mining. Not iron ore mining, but coal mining.

Director Peter Froehlingsdorf grew up on the Iron Range, and knows how important mining is to families. "I heard this music, and I knew I had to bring this to Duluth," he said. "It's bluegrass music, so it's different than your traditional Broadway showtunes. But it's amazing, and the talent we have here is so great."

The show will open up on Thursday, August 8th, at the Renegade Theater. All shows are at 8pm.
