A delegation of ten people crossed the international border to check out the tall ships Thursday.

Led by Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs, the group toured the Tweed Museum of Art, met with the Port Authority, and participated in the Tall Ships Festival.

Thunder Bay and Duluth have been sister cities since 1980, and on Thursday, a Protocol Agreement was signed, formally renewing the sister city relationship.

"We're not only neighbors, we're friends," Mayor Keith Hobbs said. "And we're looking at economic development pieces, we're looking at cultural pieces, and just friendship."

A renewal of the sister city compact is signed every five years.
