The City of Duluth and the company that manages its golf courses face a lawsuit following a car accident in which an individual was injured.
According to City Attorney Gunnar Johnson, the suit alleges that in July of 2011, the City of Duluth and/or Professional Golf Management sold alcoholic beverages to a man who was obviously intoxicated at the Enger Park Golf Course.
Johnson said later that night or following morning, the man was involved in a car accident.
Johnson said the man injured alleges that the sale of alcoholic beverages caused or contributed to the accident. He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.
The city has 20 days to answer the complaint.
