Storm damage has sidelined one "tall ship" that was on its way to Duluth for this week's festivities.
"It is with profound regret that the tall ship Halie & Matthew cannot fulfill its obligation to appear at Tall Ships Duluth 2013," said Captain Bruce Randall.
The 118-foot vessel is stranded on the Great Lakes after sustaining damage in heavy weather.
"The two-masted gaff-rigged schooner and her crew survived wind, waves, a lightning strike and an on-board fire en route to Duluth... Necessary repairs won't be complete in time to finish the voyage," Visit Duluth announced in a press release.
Visit Duluth said that about 70% of the tickets can be redirected to other ships on the fleet. Those that cannot will be offered a full refund, including service fees.
The nine tall ships will start to come in around 2 p.m. Thursday with opening ceremonies that day at 4 p.m.
Tours are offered Friday through Sunday.
