A two-year-old boy is hospitalized at Essentia Health-St. Mary's in Duluth after police say he was run over by a truck.
Duluth Police responded to an alley on 40th Ave. W above 4th St at 12:57 p.m.
The truck tried exiting the alley onto 40th Avenue W just as the child stepped into the alley and the child was hit, police said.
The boy, Taijon Cahoon, was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
His family says that they were "very lucky," Taijon did not suffer any serious injuries. His grandmother, Julaine Carlson, says that although the truck ran over Taijon's legs, they were not broken. But, Carlson says that he was in a compression cast Friday night.
The driver, a 24 year old male, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Anoka County. The man was also issued a citation for driving after suspension of his license.
