Residents of Duluth's Lincoln Park neighborhood now have a place to buy fresh and local produce.
The Lincoln Park Farmer's Market opened Thursday. Vendors had everything from eggs, granola, and fresh lettuce set up to sell. The market is located outside the Harrison Park Community Center. Market manager, Sarah Lee, said it's the perfect spot.
"The Harrison Community Center is so conveniently located. It's walkable, it's bikeable, there's free parking everywhere and the bus line goes right in front of the building all the time," said Lee.
Lee said the Lincoln Park neighborhood is the largest food desert in the Duluth area. That means it has the greatest need for a full-service grocery store.
Lee said this Farmer's Market is a way for those living in the area to enjoy some fresh, local food.
