Four kids and an adult were taken to a Duluth hospital after a pileup at the bottom of an escalator, according to police.
The Duluth Police Department tells Eyewitness News they got a call to the downtown Wells Fargo building at 1:06 p.m. Wednesday reporting 20 people stuck on an escalator.
Police said the kids were with daycare providers. They said the children were holding on to a rope going down the escalator when some of the kids were afraid to get off, causing a "chain reaction."
Police said officers found multiple kids and an adult with injuries, and a child with a substantial ankle injury. They said several others were treated for minor cuts and scrapes.
