Duluth Police have made an arrest in a shooting two months ago in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

A 27-year-old man suffered a shotgun wound to the chest in the April 27 incident.  Police say it happened during a gathering of several individuals in the 2200 block of West Second Street.

James Earl Wilkinson, 20, of Duluth has now been charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault in the case.  He is being held in the Douglas County Jail on unrelated charges.

The victim has been released from the hospital.  Police say he required surgery which has left significant scarring and that bullet fragments are still lodged in his body and cannot be removed.
