A downtown Duluth hotel closed following a water line break will have most of its power restored Wednesday, according to General Manager Jeff Briner.

The Radisson closed after a March 13, water line break flooded parts of its basement, damaging equipment and knocking out power. The hotel and city officials have disagreed over who owns the line that broke.

After the power is restored, Briner said the hotel will slowly start turning on the water. He said Tuesday that there is still work to be done on the heat and air conditioning.

The Radisson was scheduled to reopen around May 15, but in April Briner said parts and equipment to get the hotel up and running again wouldn't arrive for several more weeks.

The reopening date had originally been set for approximately May 1 and was later changed to May 15 before the most recent change to June 2.

The new reopening date comes within weeks of the city's biggest event of the year, Grandma's Marathon, which is set for June 22.

The closure has also affected the JJ Astor Restaurant, which is located on the top floor.

The hotel has been up for sale since January.
