We often hear about Duluth Medal of Honor recipient Mike Colalillo. But there are two Medal of Honor recipients who called Duluth home.

A new exhibit at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in the Depot describes the life of Major Henry Courtney, Jr., who was killed while serving in Japan. It describes Courtney's life from his Duluth Central High School days to his final experiences as a Major in the Marines.

Nick Zobenica, a veteran from Chisholm, said "all those guts he had, he must have had a lot of courage."

Courtney's nephew told Eyewitness News "we're very proud of him. It's nice to have a little remembrance here of the things he did. It was a long time ago, it was a long, long time ago."

Courtney's nephew said he showed leadership in Okinawa before being killed, which ended up saving between 6 and 8 lives.
