The ex-boyfriend of an Eden Prairie woman who is missing has been confirmed dead, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Roe had agreed to speak with police Thursday about Matula's disappearance. He drove to the Eden Prairie City Center that afternoon and shot himself in the head.
Roe was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.
Police believe Mandy Matula, a former UMD softball pitcher, was with 24-year-old David Marshall Roe in Miller Park early Thursday.
Police said Roe was not able to provide information to officers.
Meanwhile, Eden Prairie police taped off Victory Lutheran Church Saturday morning, near Miller Park.
A community search group recovered unfired ammunition. Police were trying to track where the ammunition came from.
The Crime Lab was also at the scene.
Eden Prairie police are still asking the public for information about the whereabouts of Matula.
Numerous tips about her have been flooding into the city's police department, police said Friday.
Investigators have been following up on potential leads. Eden Prairie police are receiving assistance from several agencies to investigate the case. No assistance is currently needed with search efforts, police reported. However, help from the public could be needed as the investigation progresses.
Matula and Roe graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2007.
Matula played softball at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 2008 to 2011 as a outfielder and a pitcher.
