The Duluth Homegrown Music Festival officially kicked off Sunday with an announcement from Mayor Don Ness.

The mayor's proclamation was accompanied by the Homegrown Hempen Ale Cask Release, another sacred festival tradition. The kickoff is the official start to eight days of music in Duluth and Superior.

For festival-goers out and about this week, Perfect Duluth Day has provided an easier way to keep track of the schedule. Their Homegrown Chicken App breaks down who's playing each day and where - perfect for when you're out in the thick of things.
