Traffic at the Duluth International Airport rose 5 percent during the first three months of 2013 when compared with the same period in 2012.
The Duluth Airport Authority announced Monday that a total of 77,711 passengers went through the airport in January, February, and March of 2013. DAA Executive Director Tom Werner said it's critical that the community continue to utilize the airport to retain and grow airline service.
Meanwhile, Delta Airlines announced plans to upgrade its 5:30 a.m. daily flight from Duluth to Minneapolis starting in June. The flight currently runs on a CRJ-200 and will be changed to an E-175, which provides 12 first-class seats and 64 economy seats.
