Duluth police say an officer is on administrative leave while being investigated for an alleged hit and run incident at a bar last week.
Police were called to the parking lot of Mitch's Bar & Grill just after 9 o'clock on the night of Thursday, March 14. The business is on the 2100 block of West Superior Street.
Police said an initial investigation revealed Officer Brian Jones, 50, had backed his car into a parked car twice. They said Jones was not at the scene when they arrived, but that his car was still in the parking lot.
Jones has been employed with the department since 1998, police said. They said the case has been submitted to the city attorney's office which will decide whether to file charge.
