Duluth, Minn. Chisholm's Nathan Schroeder has the lead as of 6:00 pm, Tuesday in the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Schroeder is a former champion and had a lead of about 14 and a half minutes over Keith Aili of Ray, Minnesota.

Monday's leader, Andrew Letzring of Herbster, Wisconsin is one of at least four mushers who scratched. Letzring scratched at the Devil Track checkpoint. According to the Beargrease Online Blog, Letzring hoped his dogs could rebound from what may be a virus causing dogs to have “bowel issues”, which then leads to dehydration.

The lead musher is expected to finish on Wednesday around 10:00 am.

You can follow the race at the Official Beargrease Website.
