Duluth Couple Wins Film Festival

There is a clever little video making the rounds about Duluth.  It's called, "Duluth, my home town". It has more than 3,000 hits on YouTube already and was only posted on February 10.

 

It's the work of a Duluth couple, Dave and Jean Kirwan.  Dave is a local artist and illustrator, and he took up the task of drawing the images. His wife, Jean, took care of the animation.  

 

Dave said all of his drawings were done digitally so Jean could manipulate the images and turn it all into animation, set to music.  

 

"I was barely keeping up with her once she got going, I had to draw like the wind," Dave said.  

 

And it worked; they won first place at the Short Shorts Film Festival last week at the Duluth Playhouse.  

 

"I wouldn't say it's gone viral, it's really more like a nasty infection", Dave joked.
