A man is recovering after walking into a detox center with a stab wound on Tuesday night.
Police say the 43-year-old man had a stab wound to the chest when he entered the Duluth Detoxification Center, 1402 East Superior Street, at 10:20 p.m. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a serious, but not life-threatening, wound.
Officers checked addresses associated with the victim and found a blood trail in the snow, leading them to a residence in the 1000 block of East 3rd Street. Officers arrested a 43-year-old man and took a sword believed to have been used by the suspect as evidence.
The suspect faces a possible charge of first-degree assault. Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 218-730-5050.
The victim's condition was stable as of Tuesday afternoon.
