Duluth's annual Boat, Sports, Travel & RV Show got underway on Wednesday. The five-day event features the best of what's to offer in the outdoor and recreational world, including the wilder side of things.

Duluth's DECC hosts the major exhibit show. With everything from gun displays to area resorts, plenty of folks were already checking out what the show had to offer, including a look Kevin Vogel's display.

As Eyewitness News spoke to Vogel, a year-and-a-half old mountain lion prowled behind him. That was just one of Vogel's animals he brought to show from his Sanborn, Minn. Business, Safari North.

"A lot of people, they've always heard of these animals but never get a chance to really see them up close and personal so they're really kind of shocked that they're here and they get a nice close personal view of these animals," Vogel said.

In another part of the arena, Trish Austin was talking to interested passersby.

She owns Wawang Lake Resort in Northwestern Ontario. She said it's been refreshing to find people interested in getting outside to play.

"There have been people that have either been wanting to come and see us for quite a few years and finally have decided to or vice versa--were planning on maybe going to see Mickey Mouse and would rather go see Mickey Muskie!" Austin said.

The 47th annual Boat, Sports, Travel & RV Show runs through February 17.
