The Superior Police Department says investigators have determined an alleged officer impersonation incident didn't happen.
A citizen had alleged that a man calling himself "Officer Darg" conducted a traffic stop near the Superior Post Office around 1 a.m. on Jan. 14. The report came two days after a report of a police impersonation incident on the Iron Range.
However, Superior police investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the area and found no such traffic stop ever occurred.
Police say they have referred the case to prosecutors for possible charges of providing false information to police.
