Duluth police are advising you to stay off the roads and at home unless it's absolutely necessary, due to difficult and dangerous driving conditions. The department says blowing and drifting have made driving conditions deteriorate rapidly.
Cloquet police are also recommending against travel. The city will begin plowing at 4 on Monday morning. Police say seasonal parking is in effect overnights in both Cloquet and Scanlon.
Meanwhile, in Duluth, police said Sunday evening that the alternate side parking system remains in effect, and is during the entire year resulting in better plowing service and increased safety for drivers.
Police are reminding citizens that the change-over is necessary for snow plowing and for the ability for emergency vehicles to be able to get through on roadways. They say cars not in compliance will be ticketed and towed.
