Corrections Officer in Criminal Sex Conduct Case Posts Bail

Bail has been set in the case against a corrections officer accused of having sex with a female inmate. And Eyewitness News learned Monday afternoon, that he's posted that bail.
According to the Itasca County Attorney's office, James Allen Bongaarts, 56, of Tower, made his first appearance in court Monday morning. Bail was set at $25,000 on the conditions he keep his court appearances, keeps in contace with his attorney, remains law abiding, and is restrained from the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Togo.
Bongaarts is charged with three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, and four more counts of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Bongaarts is scheduled to appear in court again on January 14, at 10 a.m.
