A Superior man has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison Thursday by a U.S. District Court Judge for possessing child pornography.
Timothy Urbanski, 49, pleaded guilty to child pornography charges back in September. After serving his prison sentence, Urbanski will be on lifetime supervised released.
Back in July 2011, court documents said a citizen brought a cell phone to Superior Police after finding pornography on it. When Urbanski went to get his phone back, authorities said he admitted it was his.
Authorities said his sentence was increased because Urbanski possessed more than 600 images. He also distributed them by e-mail and possessed images involving prepubescent minors.
The charge against Urbanski was the result of an investigation conducted by the Superior Police Department, the Lake Superior Forensic Technology and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
