nullMembers of the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross left Duluth Wednesday morning, bound for the hurricane-damaged East Coast.

Two members left in an emergency response vehicle for the two day drive. Marty Mehling tells Eyewitness News they'll most likely be giving victims food and kits to help them start cleaning up the mess.

"As it looks right now, we will be heading to the Connecticut and Rhode Island area," Mehling said. "We commit for three weeks and can stay longer."

Mehling said plans could change so they'll need to stay flexible.

Minnesota Power employees are also heading east, and left Duluth Tuesday morning. About a dozen employees are traveling in about six trucks, and they'll help restore power in Maryland.
