More that a dozen Minnesota Power employees are joining the effort to restore power in Baltimore, Maryland, following Hurricane Sandy Monday evening.
The company's John Muehlbauer tells Eyewitness News the Baltimore area is home to hundreds of thousands of people without power.
Along with the employees, Muehlbauer said about a half-dozen trucks will make the trip too. He says there's no telling how long they'll stay. "We always tell our guys to pack for 14 days. And if they need us longer we have opportunities to fly a different group of guys out there to relieve our first group," he said.
Minnesota Power is part of an assistance group which helps restore power around the country after natural disasters.
