Power has been restored after a brief outage affected more than 6,000 homes and businesses in the Duluth and Hermantown areas.
The outage began around 9:30 a.m. and affected the Duluth Heights and Piedmont Heights neighborhoods of Duluth, as well as much of Hermantown. Minnesota Power spokesperson Amy Rutdlge said service was restored to all customers at 10:10 a.m.
Rutledge said the outage began while crews were replacing equipment at the Haines substation and a transformer tripped offline.
