Duluth Restaurant Owners are High Bidders for Endion Station

Duluth's historic Endion Station will likely soon have new owners, after a Duluth company placed the highest bid Friday. The company owns popular restaurants like the Fitger's Brewhouse and Tycoons Alehouse and Eatery.
At an auction on Friday, the city of Duluth accepted the top bid from Just Take Action, Inc. for the historic building. The city of Duluth's Bronwyn Lipinski confirmed the building was sold for $300,000. However, the sale is not final until it receives final approval by the Duluth City Council.
The building is a historic part of Duluth's railroad history. The former railroad depot dates back to 1899, and was moved to its current location at 100 Lake Place Drive in the 1980s. The building, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was fully rehabilitated then.
Part of the auction by the city specifies that the new owners must maintain its historical integrity and character.
It's not known what Just Take Action, Inc. will use the building for in the future, pending approval of the sale. A call to the company for comment on the sale wasn't returned.
According to the city, the building previously housed a number of other businesses since the move including; Visit Duluth, the Midnight Sun Adventure Company, a district substation of the Duluth Police Department, a health food and exercise business, and an advertising agency.
