Methadone Clinic in Duluth Appeals License Revocation

The Minnesota Department of Human Services said that the methadone clinic in Duluth will appeal the state's decision to revokes its license.
The Lake Superior Treatment Center received word at the end of September that the state was going to revoke their license on October 8th. This was after 56 more violations were found during a licensing review in August. The state said that many of those violations are serious and chronic.
The first round of violations at the center were published by the state in March.
According to state law, the center has the right to appeal the license revocation. And it has notified their intent to do so, through a legal firm, and has asked for a contested case hearing in front of an administrative law judge.
The letter to the DHS said that the center says the allegations and sanctions against them are unsupported by substantial evidence, arbitrary and capricious, and in violation of constitutional provisions.
