The Superior Fire Department will be wearing much more pink than usual this month.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they are wearing shirts that say, "Give Cancer the Axe."

It's part of a national program that the International Fire Fighters Association adopted in 2010.

"It was exciting picking out the t-shirt design. And getting the guys to wear pink" chuckled Captain Lindzi Campbell. "The cause hits close to home because one of our firefighter's wives was diagnosed several years ago with breast cancer."

"We are selling the t-shirts at Grizzly's, Sears at the mall, and the Thirsty Pagan. Also at the fire department headquarters on Tower and the north end station on Hammond," she added.

The shirts are $15.
