Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon teamed up with the U.S. Army Parachute Team known as the Golden Knights Tuesday, to show support for those who serve our nation in uniform.
Prettner Solon hopped in a plane that climbed to 12,500 feet. From there she made a tandem jump falling at 120 miles per hour before landing safely on the Minnesota State Capitol Lower Mall. She said she's never considered skydiving before, but decided to make this high-flying move to show support for our armed forces who defend our freedom, "Everyday those folks in combat are risking their lives and I think this is the very least I can symbolically do."
After the jump, Prettner Solon joined Governor Dayton and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie for a community covenant signing ceremony. That is another initiative for them to show their support for military service members and their families.
