Mesabi Range Community & Technical College, in partnership with Vermilion Community College, has been awarded a 5-year U.S. Department of Education TRIO grant for an Upward Bound Math/Science Program in the amount of $1,250,000.

The Hibbing and Itasca Community Colleges are also each receiving the same $1,250,000 grants.

This is a major announcement and success for our region, since it was a competitive process, according to Upward Bound Director at HCC, Tallie Sertich.

Upward Bound Math/Science is a pre-college, year-round program that provides educational opportunities to students who have the determination and desire to pursue higher education.
