Update: Fatal Crash near Cass Lake

A Bemidji man was killed when his van rear-ended a dump truck near Cass Lake Thursday morning.
The crash happened on U.S. Highway 2, four miles east of Cass Lake, at about 9:40 a.m. The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2006 Dodge Sprinter van rear-ended the dump truck in the eastbound lane.
The van's driver, 38-year-old Theodore T. Bruers of Bemidji, was killed. The Cass Lake man who was driving the dump truck suffered a minor injury.
