nullOn Tuesday night, around 11:15 PM, Duluth Police were called to Little Angie’s Cantina And Grill on the report of an armed robbery.

Police said the suspect entered an office, threatened a female employee with a knife, and started grabbing money from a cash drawer.

While the 52-year-old suspect was grabbing money, the employee was able to grab the knife out of the suspect’s pocket and yelled at him to leave as she ran out of the office.

That's action is something that Brian Daugherty, President of Grandma's Restaurants, said likely helped with his arrest.

"Because of some quick-thinking by one employee, and a sound state of mind, this guy was apprehended in minutes," Daugherty said. He said the employee took great mental notes.

The suspect, who is from Duluth, left in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At least nine squads set up a perimeter and a responding Duluth Police Lieutenant noticed a male matching the suspect’s description look out the rear door of Grizzly’s restaurant.

Officers located the suspect inside the Grizzly’s restaurant, and he was arrested.

An investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending. The employee was unharmed, and ultimately, Daugherty said that's always the most important thing.

"We've never been robbed before... and we always say that our goal is that every employee comes out of the situation unharmed. That’s our goal and that happened last night."
