More Information Released in Askov Accident

New details have been released in the fatal accident involving a semi-truck and a pickup on County Road 32 near Askov on Tuesday evening.

Four people were killed and one was injured in the accident.

The Pine County Sheriff's office says the semi truck was driven by Dennis Sostak of Askov. Sostak was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was 21-year-old Nikko Jensen. Jensen was injured and is at Essentia Health in Duluth.

Killed in the collision include two men, Arden Edwards, 58, from Bruno, and Brett Larson, 21, from Sandstone. One woman, Catherine Peterson, 21, from Askov, and Felicity Jensen, 17, sister of Nikko Jensen, were also killed. Edwards, the uncle of Nikko and Felicity, was in the passenger seat closest to the door. He died at the scene. Felicity Jensen and Brett Larson also died at the scene.

Catherine Peterson, was ejected from the pickup truck, but was still alive when first responders arrived. She was transported by air-ambulance and died a short time later at the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities say it is still unclear where the other victims were sitting in the vehicle. All were ejected upon impact.
