Tom Kasper, Building and Grounds Supervisor for the city of Duluth will be off the job for the month of September.

City officials said they have complaints and charges relating to Kasper dated August 31. However, the city said, according to data practices rules, the nature of the complaints won't be made public until the disciplinary action is over.

Kasper faced criticism in July for flood clean-up efforts along Duluth's Chester Creek. He contracted with local tree service companies to remove about 100 trees, something DNR Fisheries said could hurt the designated trout stream, which is according to the Duluth News tribune.

It's not known, however, if Kasper's time off the job is related to the tree cutting. Eyewitness News made repeated calls to Kasper for comment, which were not returned.

Kasper is also a member of the Duluth School Board, for which he is still actively seated.
