Duluth Organizations Honored for $25K Donation

College students have a shot at some financial help thanks to hard work by two local organizations.
Veteran's Memorial Hall honored the Duluth Honor Guard and American Legion Post 571 Wednesday morning, for raising $25,000 which will make decades of scholarships possible.
The name tied to that scholarship is Medal of Honor recipient Mike Colalillo. He's a man Capt. John Marshall, with the Duluth Honor Guard, says he admired, and called a friend.
"It's been a real privilege to work on a project such as this, and this will perpetuate Mike's heroism for generations to come," he said.
Each year one student will get a $750 scholarship. To get it, they'll have to write a paper about local military history.
